Dr. Kathy Wolf, a researcher with the US Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station, will give a presentation on the importance of city trees and nature. Nearly 40 years of research describes the many ways that experiences of nearby nature promote better human health and well-being. Her presentation will start with some of the highlights of the research. It will also present some of the ways that communities can initiate more nature-based activities that improve health. Finally, the science can be translated into practical ways to design and plan nature into the everyday environments of cities and towns.
